Word Magazine # 72: The Ending of Mark as a Canonical Crisis

I recorded today Word Magazine # 72: The Ending of Mark as a Canonical Crisis. In this episode I give an overview of the paper, of the same title, which I presented last Friday (3.3.17) at the 2017 Theology Conference at Houston Baptist University.

Since the paper now stretches to over 8,000 words I did not read it in full but hit some highlights. I did something similar in my 30 minute presentation in Houston, using this PPT.

Jeff, is the paper in full available (for those of us who like the fine details)? Thanks.

Hi Steve and thanks for your interest. I'm still doing some fine tuning on the paper, but I hope it will be published somewhere in the near future. At this point, I'd rather not post it online, but if you send an email request to me at my church address [info.crbc(at)gmail.com] I'll get a current draft copy to you. JTR

We need someone who knows what they're talking about to write a book on the case for the traditional, confessional text. The only books we have are those by Burgon, Letis, and Hills. We need an accessible book, written by a 21st century writer, for a 21st century audience. I hope you will consider writing such a book.

AJ, thanks for the encouragement. I have had others encourage the same and am taking this into consideration as stewardship of time allows. Blessings, JTR
